We need to handle security like they do in Israel and Brasil. No need for scanners. Simply question those who look suspicious and let the rest go through. Once on the plane, allow those with concealed carry to remain armed, and let the airliner provide a few armed guards on the plane.
Getting government in the mix just introduces a vast legion of government welfare workers (government employees) who have little interest in making profits for the airlines. Let the airlines do what it takes to please their customers and keep them safe.
Not only terrorists but smugglers would love that women wouldn’t be scanned or patted down.
All the women have to do is get by security. Whatever they were carrying can then be handed over to a male terrorist or smuggler.
