Don’t they fear “Big Brother”? They sure seemed to fear the “New World Order” under Clinton. That’s why registered Republican and former NRA member Timothy McVeigh blew up that federal building in Oklahoma City.
Why aren’t more conservatives against limiting civil liberties in the name of security?
Why are they the biggest deficit spenders?
And why are they all for using the government to ban social practices they don’t agree with?
Medical marijuana, right to die, gay marriage, sex on tv, abortion, strip clubs, etc, etc.
And that’s just today. In the past social conservatives used state gov’t to oppose interacial marriage and equal rights for women and minorities.

Because you forgot the one important ingredient that makes them such kooks – religion. The combination of the two has produced something no one can define – or wants to look at for very long because it’s so ugly.
Sadly enough, those who don’t believe in government have never done a good job at actual governance. It’s the same for Bush as it was for Regan. Regan’s word’s against government helping people ring true to those dying in natural disasters when our government agencies don’t function well enough to help them.
Conservatives see bad government and say, let’s get rid of it.
I see bad government and say, let’s fix it.
Remember, the US government is America. “We the People” … We don’t live in a Monarchy, but in a Representative government. We can fix it. We can make it more efficient. We can make it function, if we watch every politician closely, Republican and Democratic.

Well, don’t confuse ‘Republicans’ with ‘conservatives.’ Many Republicans are not conservative at all. In terms of their ideology, they are big-government, big-spending, and in favor of expansive government power. This is closer to ‘theocratic socialism’ than ‘conservatism.’

I’m amazed at how conservatives have accepted Bush’s scare tactics to allow the government to butt into our lives like never before.
If you do research you would know that McVeigh called Mr ramsey usef himself in the Philippians before bombing the federal building, which in turn make that a tie to terrorism (al queda) but that never made big news…hmm wonder why?
