McCain took campaign donations from known felons that brought down the banking industry.
If Tim McVeigh never killed anyone… if Tim McVeigh had turned himself in, went through court, lived past his crimes and later became prominent in local politics… if McCain happened to grow up in the same neighborhood and coincidentally served on a board with him, had a coffee social hosted thrown for him by McVeigh, and beyond that had no contact with the man, then yes. Chalk it up to the two people being politically active within the same board in the small community… it would be hard to expect them not to cross paths.
Otherwise, no.
This is why I would never run for office. God knows I probably went to school with some kid who went on to rape someone, or I serve on a board and turns out one of the members has a criminal history and we went to a conference together… stop holding people responsible for the actions of every person they’re associated with. You can’t get far in politics without building associations with hundreds upon hundreds of people. You can’t be responsible for every last one of them… you are only responsible for your OWN actions.
Now stop laying in dog poop and focus on the real issues this nation’s facing. If all you can do is dig up dirt on the man, then your side’s already lost.
