    They were kind of quiet this off season and no one seems to know why…

    great post. my biggest concern is pitching. the mets success depends on so many “ifs” in that starting rotation. also it was never clear to me why the mets were so “quiet” this offseason (for a large market team). I can think of, 1) madoff $ issues 2) over confidence in the team the way it is now, 3) my understanding is next year’s free agent crop is stellar, perhaps waiting for then or maybe (i would hate to think so) we are just spoiled large market fans. I mean the mets are a top spender.

    I think Bay is better for the Mets as well. I just wish they would have got some new starting pitching.

    I think Bay was a better signing then Holliday … I think the Mets lucked out that way.
