A couple blocks, I guess.
I understand what you’re trying to do here, but they won’t understand. Their vitriolic hatred for everything Islam extends all the way to their own fellow American citizens. It’s hard to break through that kind of hate.
Didn’t you know Christian terrorists are good, Muslim ones bad.
Well, I have at least a dozen Christian God-houses within a two mile radius of where I live. But, remember, Timothy McVeigh did not blow up the Murray building because of his religious beliefs, either.
The attacks on 9/11 were carried out by radical Muslim terrorists who believed they would be rewarded by their God for what they did – that is why they were so willing to give up their lives for their attacks.
Never underestimate the potential for evil from those who believe they cannot die.
Brilliant question. you are my hero!
I think we have enough churches in this country, we need more abortion clinics and gay wedding chapels.
This question rocks. I’m going to use Google maps to find out how many there are.
Edit: there are two right next to the site, and another couple within a few blocks. But I think they are all older; they existed before the bombing. I think that if any Christian group wants to build another one near there, we should all protest.
Don’t ask awkward questions, You will make these knee-jerk reactionaries think, and that may damage their brains.
And remember, if it is within 5 blocks that means it is actually part of the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
I see by your avatar where your intelligence comes from.Timothy McVeigh was a anti Government extremeist and his Religious beliefs had nothing to do with the blowing up of the Murrah Bldg. Also what most people do not know is just before his execution it is rumored he made his confession to a Priest and repented.
That’s a very fair question, but I think when Fundamentalists kill it is either “[their] God’s will”, or they do it vicariously with apathy, indifference, and sometimes even delight. It’s their simple, dualistic view of ‘Us vs. Them’ that allows for Righteous destruction of anything they don’t like or don’t understand.
He didn’t do it in the name of God, Christianity, or religion. He did it because he was ticked off at the government, and authority in general, after serving in the military, so your question is moot. If you have evidence to the contrary, pls post; I’d be interested in reading it.
I totally agree with the point you are making. I think that for sake of the Muslims though, it would be wiser for them not to build on the site they chose…….just to avoid the Fundamentalist christians who are most likely going to cause trouble for them in the future.
