Mets bring Ike Davis up
NEW YORK — Hot-hitting first base prospect Ike Davis has been brought up by the New York Mets. Davis was to make his major league debut against the Chicago Cubs on Monday night. He takes over at first from Opening Day cleanup hitter Mike Jacobs, who was designated for assignment Sunday after hitting 5-for-24 (.208) with one homer and two RBIs in seven games.
