Forget about all this Jayson Heyward band wagon!
Ike is a legitimate threat to hit 40 homers in the big leagues, and the Mets are one of the best places for a young first baseman to be right now. His refined college approach to the strike zone means he should do it without Howardesque strikeout numbers. too. One of the 2008 draft’s most polished picks, Davis should be ready for MLB action in 2010.
He will get called up soon..Like his chances?

WHO??
exactly.
No its stephen strausbaurg
To the first guy: Get some baseball knowledge, okay?
Yup, I love his chances. He is going to win Rookie of the Year, I’m calling it. Look at the Mets current 1B
Mike Jacob – 0-5 performance
Chris Carter – Ike Davis is slightly better
Daniel Murphy – Injured
Ike Davis – Next Big Thing
Also, when he gets call up (May/June/July), look what the Mets lineup would be
1 – Jose Reyes
2 – Luis Castillo
3 – Carlos Beltran
4 – David Wright
5 – Jason Bay
6 – Ike Davis
7 – Jeff Francoeur
8 – Rod Barjas
9 – Pitcher’s spot
Pretty good for Ike Davis their to be surrounded by such great talent. Good chance for him to do good.
if he doesn’t get a call-up until June 1st, he will already be 150+ AB’s behind Heyward, that’s too much to overcome. I’m not saying anything about his ability – though Citi Field will hinder his power numbers – Heyward may have 10-12 HR’s already and there’s no looking back.
Heyward is the real deal – I have read and heard plenty about him, but finally seeing him in a real game was impressive. He’s huge, his bat speed is incredible. Very impressive.
The only way Davis gets called up is if the Mets are doing so poorly they throw in the towel and promote him. They’re not going to win the East but they’re not going to be that bad either. So Davis will play in Buffalo…
Who is that. He sounds like he sucks anyway. 40hr’s in that park please. The Mets suck too. I’m sure he hopes he gets traded to a contender anyway. Mets suck. They suck. That is all.
He’s still in AA, and not on the Mets’ 40-man roster. And you’re anointing him as Rookie of the Year. Amazing.
